Job Title: Maintenance Manager (Construction Equipment)

About the Role

• This role requires a strategic leader with strong technical expertise in heavy equipment management, maintenance coordination, cost control, and operational efficiency.
• The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment assets are available, safe, cost-effective, and operating at optimal performance levels to support successful project delivery.
• We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven construction equipment manager to oversee the planning, acquisition, deployment, utilisation, and lifecycle management of our construction equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop equipment coordinators, supervisors, and fleet personnel.
• Establish equipment replacement, disposal, and asset optimization programs.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Evaluate and negotiate with equipment vendors and suppliers.
• Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery.
• Manage the organization's fleet of construction equipment and assets.
• Assess equipment needs and recommend procurement, leasing, or rental solutions.
• Develop strategies to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and company safety requirements.
• Monitor equipment utilization, productivity, fuel consumption, and operating costs.
• Prepare and manage equipment-related budgets and expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and building codes.
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across equipment operations.

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Plant Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s Degree in civil engineering or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Experience within the construction sectors is highly desirable.
• 7–10 years' experience in construction equipment management or a similar role.
• Ability to detect issues with equipment and fix the equipment.
• Proven experience managing heavy equipment fleets and coordinating maintenance activities.
