Job Summary
- We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support the daily operations of our hotel kitchen.
- The successful candidate will assist chefs and cooks with food preparation, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, organize kitchen supplies, and ensure that all kitchen areas are kept clean, safe, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly and efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed at all times.
- Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen and storage areas.
- Replenish kitchen supplies and notify supervisors of low stock levels.
- Assist with setting up and closing down kitchen stations.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of SSCE / High School Certificate.
- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or hotel environment is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
