Job Title: Homeschool English Teacher
Location: Apo, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
About the Role
- We are seeking a passionate and experienced Homeschool English Teacher to provide high-quality English Language instruction in a home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing the child's reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills while creating a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lesson Planning & Delivery:
- Incorporate interactive activities, storytelling, educational games, and practical exercises to make learning enjoyable.
- Develop and deliver engaging English Language lessons tailored to the child's age, ability, and learning goals.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the child's learning style and pace.
- Teach key language skills including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, creative writing, spelling, speaking, and listening.
Lesson Preparation & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed lesson plans, notes, worksheets, and teaching resources.
- Maintain accurate records of lessons taught, assignments completed, and student progress.
- Track learning objectives and ensure consistent academic development.
Student Engagement & Learning Support:
- Manage attention and behavior effectively while maintaining a nurturing atmosphere.
- Support critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning habits.
- Create a positive and motivating learning environment.
- Encourage confidence in communication, reading, and writing.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular quizzes, tests, reading assessments, and writing exercises.
- Utilize educational websites and digital resources for supplementary assignments and assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and identify areas requiring improvement.
Communication & Reporting
- Collaborate with parents to establish learning goals and strategies for improvement.
- Provide regular updates to parents on academic progress, strengths, and areas for development.
- Submit progress reports and maintain open communication regarding the student's educational journey.
Requirements
- Previous experience teaching English Language to children.
- Patient, creative, and passionate about helping children learn.
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory) with 2-3 years experience
- Familiarity with educational resources and online learning platforms.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs and styles.
Salary
N150,000 / Month
