Job Title: Head of Finance (Manufacturing)

Job Summary

  • The Head of Finance will play a critical role in steering the financial and strategic direction of the organization. As a senior leadership position, the candidate will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the finance department, ensuring the organization’s financial health, and leading business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Provide the directors an expert counsel on financial strategy to the executive team, aligning both short-term and long-term goals with the organisation objectives.
  • Develop, monitor and evaluate overall corporate strategy with top management and managers of business units with emphasis on profitability, capital investment, good corporate governance to enhancing company’s corporate value.
  • Lead capital structuring and funding strategies.
  • Develop, implement and oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, risk management, and reporting.

Business Development and Growth:

  • Lead commercial insight efforts, identifying growth opportunities to exceed business plan targets and drive profitability.
  • Design and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s expansion and business development goals.
  • Spearhead initiatives to identify new revenue streams and enhance financial performance.

Financial Analysis and Planning:

  • Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Accounting Principles.
  • Oversee complete Finance and Accounts activities, monthly financial consolidation, Budgeting, Risk Management, and internal Controls.
  • Present reports with key financial metrics, variance analysis, and actionable insights for management.
  • Present financial performance and KPIs to the Board of directors.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Establish guidelines for annual & periodic budgets. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets.
  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with Group strategic plan.
  • Assess Organizational performance against the budget and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Monitor the use of all funds to ensure it is in accordance with budgetary goals.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

  • Balance short-term financial concerns and pressures, such as managing cash flow/ liquidity, profitability, in line with long-term vision and sustainable organizational success.
  • Collaborate with banks, financial institutions, and advisors to strengthen the firm’s financial position and expand access to growth capital.
  • Oversee capital allocation, liquidity, and cash flow to ensure optimal deployment of financial resources across the firm’s portfolios and operations.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Promote accountability and performance culture between the departments.
  • Supervise daily Financial and Accounting activities to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are strictly followed by all units.
  • Share strategic leadership responsibilities with other senior management team and ensuring the finance/account function supports the business at a strategic and operational level.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Oversee internal and external audit processes.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities and regulators.
  • Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong business acumen and ability to influence at executive and board levels.
  • Professional certification (ICAN/ ACA/ ACCA/ CPA/ CMA)
  • 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a strong focus on financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in financial management software (mainly SAP, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics, ODOO..)
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong experience in Manufacturing is an added advantage.
  • High integrity and ability to work under pressure.
  • Deep understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong experience in a managerial capacity.
  • Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

Salary
N1,000,000 - N1,200,00 / Month (Net).
