Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and administrative support to the Chairman in managing downstream oil & gas operations, ensuring alignment between executive priorities and business objectives.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on strategic directives from executive and board meetings, particularly those relating to supply reliability, operational efficiency, and market expansion.
  • Prepare high-level briefs, executive summaries, and strategic reports on downstream market trends, pricing dynamics, supply chain performance, and regulatory developments.
  • Coordinate the escalation and reporting of significant operational issues requiring the Chairman's attention and ensure timely follow-up on agreed actions.
  • Coordinate the preparation of analyses, business cases, and recommendations relating to investment opportunities, partnerships, acquisitions, and infrastructure projects for the Chairman's consideration.
  • Consolidate and present key operational performance indicators relating to product supply, storage, distribution, retail network performance, and depot utilization for the Chairman's review.
  • Manage confidential communications and sensitive industry intelligence with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of presentations for regulatory meetings, investor engagements, and industry forums.
  • Coordinate executive-level meetings with government agencies, regulators, and major industry players, including agenda preparation and documentation.
  • Coordinate engagements with key stakeholders across the downstream ecosystem, including NNPC Limited, private depot owners, shipping companies, and fuel distribution partners.
  • Coordinate the Chairman's engagements across key downstream value chain stakeholders, including regulators (e.g., NMDPRA), depot operators, marketers, logistics partners, and industry associations.
  • Liaise with internal business units (supply, trading, logistics, retail operations) to consolidate operational updates and performance reports for the Chairman.
  • Track industry developments including PMS, diesel, aviation fuel (Jet A1), and LPG pricing, availability, and supply chain disruptions, providing timely insights for decision-making.
  • Monitor compliance-related issues within downstream operations, including licensing, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry policy changes.

Qualifications, Experience and Skill

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and executive correspondence.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience supporting senior executives, preferably at C-suite or Board level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple stakeholders, and deliver with minimal supervision.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of executive-level operations, corporate governance, and board processes.
  • Exceptional organizational, coordination, and time-management skills with the ability to manage complex schedules and priorities.
  • A Master's Degree (MBA or related field) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate executive needs.

Strict Industry Experience Requirement:

  • At least 7 years out of the 10-15 years experience must be in the Nigerian downstream oil and gas industry.
