Job Title: Engineering Department Manager (Engineering / Practical Engineer)

Job Summary

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the company's production and quality objectives.
  • We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Engineering Department Manager to lead and oversee all engineering activities within our automobile manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the Engineering Department.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address equipment failures and process inefficiencies.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor engineering budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines.
  • Develop and mentor engineering personnel, ensuring continuous professional growth and high team performance.
  • Drive innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, procurement, and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing methods.
  • Manage engineering projects, including equipment installation, plant upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies to improve production efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports for senior management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have 7–10 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, maintenance management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Membership of a recognized professional engineering body is an added advantage.
  • Proven leadership, project management, and team management experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of automobile manufacturing processes, production systems, and industrial equipment.
