About the Role

• The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive innovation, ensure system reliability, and support the bank's growth in a highly regulated digital finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure technology supports regulatory obligations (CBN, NDIC, BOFIA 2020)
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies (AI, cloud infrastructure, open banking APIs) to maintain competitive advantage
• Ensure robust cybersecurity practices, data privacy compliance, and system uptime/resilience
• Define and execute the overall technology strategy, aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements (CBN guidelines, data protection standards, etc.)
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, fintech partners, and core banking solution providers
• Oversee the architecture, security, and scalability of the bank's core banking platform, mobile/web applications, and APIs
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering, DevOps, and product development teams
• Own the technology budget, infrastructure costs, and vendor contracts

Requirements

• Proven experience in fintech, digital banking, or financial services technology
• Familiarity with Nigerian regulatory technology requirements (CBN, NDIC, NITDA/NDPR) is a strong advantage
• Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive technology leadership experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's/MBA an advantage)
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic communication skills
• Strong understanding of core banking systems, cloud architecture, API integrations, and cybersecurity frameworks
