Job Title: Business Developer / Tendering Specialist

Description

  • Ellasot Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a reputable company seeking a competent and detail-oriented Business Developer/Tendering Specialist responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the oil and gas industry.
  • The role involves driving business growth by sourcing tender opportunities, preparing competitive bids and proposals, building strong client relationships, and achieving sales and revenue targets.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with technical, commercial, and operations teams to develop winning strategies and ensure the successful acquisition of new contracts.
  • This includes reviewing tender documents, preparing technical and commercial proposals, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, estimating project costs, assessing risks, and submitting competitive bids that align with company objectives and client requirements
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering process for oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sectors.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Promote the company's products and services to existing and potential clients.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects.

Tendering and Bidding:

  • Source, monitor, and evaluate tender opportunities from government agencies, international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), EPC contractors, and private sector clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, finance, and operations teams to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Participate in bid clarification meetings and commercial negotiations with clients.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Pre-qualification Documents, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and Invitations to Tender (ITTs).
  • Ensure all bid submissions comply with client specifications, contractual requirements, and submission deadlines.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, partners, and industry decision-makers.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and responsive service delivery.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Conduct regular client visits to identify new opportunities and strengthen business partnerships.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Negotiate commercial terms and conditions to secure profitable contracts.
  • Achieve assigned sales, contract award, and revenue targets.
  • Monitor contract performance and identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and business development reports.

Strategic Planning and Reporting:

  • Analyze market conditions and recommend strategies to improve competitiveness and increase market share.
  • Prepare periodic business development reports, sales forecasts, and pipeline updates for management.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, business opportunities, and contract status using CRM systems.
  • Support the development of annual business plans and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in Business Development, Sales, Project Management, or Contract Management are desirable.
  • Relevant professional certifications in Tendering, Procurement, Sales, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc./HND) in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A master's degree (MBA) is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in securing contracts through competitive tendering and bidding processes.
  • 7 - 10 years of business development, sales, or commercial experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • An established network within the oil and gas industry is an advantage.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, oilfield service companies, or upstream, midstream, or downstream operators.

Technical Competencies:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Revenue forecasting and budgeting
  • Tendering and bid management
  • Contract negotiation and commercial management
  • Market research and competitive analysis
  • Client relationship management
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 monthly.
