We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Anambra

Job Summary

  • We look to you to maintain precise ledgers, prepare timely reconciliations, and support our financial health through meticulous data analysis.
  • As our Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across all accounting functions.
  • This is a proactive role that requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of core accounting principles, and we need someone ready to contribute to our team's success from day one.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Tax & Compliance Support: You will assist in preparing and filing local tax returns (such as VAT, WHT, and payroll taxes) and ensure all financial records comply with statutory regulations and internal policies.
  • Financial Reporting: You will assist in preparing accurate balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to help management monitor company performance and cash flow.
  • Audit Assistance & Confidentiality: You will prepare necessary documentation and schedules for internal and external auditors, while handling all payroll and proprietary company data with the absolute highest level of discretion.
  • Bookkeeping & Ledger Maintenance: You will manage daily financial transactions, including posting journal entries, updating accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), and maintaining an accurate general ledger.
  • Reconciliations & Month-End Close: You will perform regular bank, vendor, and customer reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring a smooth and accurate month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Expense Tracking & Budgeting: You will process employee expense reports, track departmental spend against approved budgets, and identify areas where we can optimize costs.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, combined with 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience. (Progress toward a professional certification like CPA, ACCA, or ACA is a strong advantage).
  • Core Competencies: A solid grasp of general accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), exceptional mathematical and analytical skills, and clear communication skills to collaborate effectively with both finance and non-finance teams.
  • Traits: Sharp attention to detail, strong organizational skills to manage tight deadlines, high reliability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Intermediate to Advanced Excel for pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) and hands-on experience with modern accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or SAP).
