We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Solar Battery & Inverter Engineer

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • The Solar/Inverter Engineermaintains, and repairs solar PV systems and inverter/battery setups, focusing on ensuring reliable off-grid/hybrid power by managing components like panels, charge controllers, batteries (tubular, lithium), and inverters, troubleshooting faults, performing site surveys, sizing systems, training users, and ensuringsafety protocolsare met for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repair: Diagnosing faults, repairing faulty inverters, UPS, and batteries (AGM, Lithium, Tubular), performing routine servicing, and conducting preventive maintenance.
  • System Design & Sizing: Conducting site assessments, designing efficient solar layouts, sizing components (panels, batteries, inverters) for specific energy needs, and creating system schematics.
  • Technical Support & Training: Providing expert advice to clients, answering technical questions, and training users on system operation, maintenance, and safety.
  • Performance Monitoring: Using energy meters and clamp meters to test system performance, analyze energy production, and optimize efficiency.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhering to safety standards (e.g., breaker installation), identifying hazards, and ensuring systems comply with electrical codes.
  • Reporting: Documenting all repairs, maintenance, and installations, and reporting on common issues and potential system improvements.

Key Areas of Focus in Nigeria:

  • Diverse Applications: Working on stand-alone, hybrid, and grid-connected systems for homes, businesses, and industries.
  • Battery Expertise: Handling various battery technologies (Lead-Acid, Lithium) and related components like charge controllers and breakers.
  • Troubleshooting: Addressing common issues like power fluctuations, battery discharge, and inverter failures prevalent in diverse power environments.

Qualifications

  • OND / HND / B.Sc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant and progressive experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong electrical/electronic knowledge, including DC/AC circuits, soldering, and PCB repair.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools.
  • Understanding of solar PV principles, energy efficiency, and relevant safety.
