Job Title: Senior Tax Associate

Location: Ogba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will manage multiple client engagements, ensure regulatory compliance, provide strategic tax solutions, and build lasting client relationships.
  • HRLeverage Africa is recruiting on behalf of a reputable Audit Firm for the position of Senior Tax Associate.
  • We are seeking an experienced and proactive tax professional with a strong background in tax compliance, tax advisory, and audit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise clients on their implications.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
  • Represent clients during tax audits, investigations, and engagements with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and State Internal Revenue Services.
  • Support audit engagements by providing tax-related expertise where required.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Provide tax advisory and consulting services to clients across various industries.
  • Prepare, review, and file statutory tax returns, including Companies Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE).
  • Manage and oversee tax compliance engagements for a portfolio of clients.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members where necessary.
  • Prepare tax reports, opinions, and other client deliverables.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Candidates residing in Ogba, Ikeja, Agege, Maryland, Ketu, or nearby areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet strict deadlines.
  • 3–5 years' post-qualification experience in tax, audit, or accounting.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, CITN, or its equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience in an Audit Firm or Chartered Tax Practitioners firm is required.

Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 per month.
