Job Summary

  • The role requires a dedicated safety professional who can monitor daily safety activities, conduct audits and investigations, implement preventive measures, and ensure all HSE documentation and reports are maintained and updated in accordance with international standards and legal requirements.
  • We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead and manage all health, safety, environmental, and ISO management system activities across the organization.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HSE policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving a strong safety culture, and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment Management:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Lead the organization's HSE strategy and promote a strong safety culture throughout the workplace.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and safe work systems.
  • Advise management on HSE risks, performance, and improvement initiatives.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification:

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
  • Monitor equipment, machinery, and operational processes to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Identify workplace hazards and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.

Training & Safety Awareness:

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness campaigns.
  • Ensure employees are trained on safety procedures, emergency response, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Incident Investigation & Reporting:

  • Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports and track implementation of preventive measures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, environmental events, and near misses.

Audits & Compliance:

  • Coordinate external audits by regulatory authorities and certification bodies.
  • Plan and conduct internal HSE audits and inspections.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans.
  • Organize emergency drills and evacuation exercises.
  • Ensure adequate emergency preparedness resources are available and functional.

Data Analysis & Performance Reporting:

  • Analyze incident trends, injury statistics, and safety performance data.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE reports for management review.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators and environmental metrics.

ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management:

  • Coordinate and facilitate Management Review Meetings as scheduled.
  • Prepare internal audit reports and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
  • Lead certification and surveillance audits and ensure continual compliance with ISO requirements.
  • Develop annual internal audit programs and conduct ISO internal audits.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (ISO 45001).
  • Ensure all ISO documentation, procedures, records, and reports are properly maintained and updated.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on emerging HSE regulations, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Implement initiatives that support continual improvement and operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HSE performance and management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, risk assessments, incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are required.
  • Proven experience managing ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 documentation, internal audits, management reviews, and certification audits.
  • ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor certification will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining HSE Management Systems.
  • 7-10 years of HSE experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or managerial role.
  • Mandatory experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment such as steel, mining, cement, chemical, power, heavy engineering, manufacturing, or related industries.
