We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Consultant, Accounts and Tax

Location: Isolo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The ideal candidate will manage tax computations, statutory remittances, financial reporting, and client relations, while ensuring full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations.
  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Consultant, Accounts and Tax,to provide high-quality accounting and tax advisory services to both the firm and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and develop junior staff and clients in accounting and tax-related areas.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of tax laws, policies, and regulatory changes, and advise clients accordingly.
  • Supervise Associate Consultants to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Prepare monthly budgets, trial balances, comparative financial statements, and bank reconciliation statements for clients and the company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Conduct audits and prepare accounts from incomplete records where necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services Manager on business planning and cost estimation projects.
  • Liaise with clients to obtain necessary financial data for timely reporting and analysis.
  • Handle company and client tax matters including WHT, VAT, PAYE, and CIT computations, remittances, and returns.
  • Visit clients periodically to provide on-site accounting or tax support.

Requirements

  • High integrity, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience delivering training in accounting and taxation will be an added advantage.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA)mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and compliance requirements (PAYE, WHT, VAT, and CIT).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Minimum of 5years’ progressive experiencein accounting, auditing, and tax practice, preferably within a consulting or professional services firm.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, budgets, and reconciliations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective client management.
