Job Position: Plant Electrical & Instrument Engineer

Job Location: Lekki Free Trade Zone, Ibeju Lekki - Lagos

Job Summary


  • We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plant Electrical & Instrument Engineer to join our manufacturing facility at the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, motor control, and instrumentation, with proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring reliable plant operations.

Key Responsibilities & Competencies

  • Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of industrial instruments and transmitters (Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level, and Weight).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including power distribution panels, MCCs (Motor Control Centres), and control panels.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electric motors and motor control systems, including:
  • Direct-On-Line (DOL) starters
  • Star-Delta starters
  • Soft starters
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Ensure proper cable selection, routing, termination, and gland installation in accordance with standards.
  • Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and plant safety policies.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support continuous and efficient plant operations.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or process-plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor control, and instrumentation.
  • Hands-on experience with MCCs, protection systems, and fault diagnosis.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Ibeju-Lekki.

Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 / month.
