Job Description

• We’re looking for an experienced Mining Financial Analyst with a strong background in the mining industry to drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operational, commercial, and executive teams to provide financial insights for business growth.
• Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Develop and improve financial reporting processes using ERP systems.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management reports.
• Assist in financial audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
• Monitor project profitability, production costs, and operational expenditures.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
• Analyze operational and financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop financial models, budgets, forecasts, and long-term business projections.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Nigerian accounting standards, and relevant mining regulations.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
• Support investment appraisals, feasibility studies, and capital expenditure analysis.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for financial risk mitigation.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance indicators.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of IFRS and Nigerian financial reporting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial data and present meaningful insights.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of local and international mining regulations and financial compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of mining accounting practices and cost accounting.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA (mandatory).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business projections.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or financial analysis within the mining industry.
