- Our client is is seeking to recruit an experienced professional for the role of Logistics Supervisor who will join the team in enhancing operational activities in our projects.
Job Description
- To manage all logistics operations for Client, including raw material inbound logistics, finished goods dispatch, and project site deliveries.
- The Logistics Supervisor will ensure that the client fulfills its brand promise of "On-Time, Zero-Damage" delivery, managing transportation, fleet, and logistics coordination across the three business units.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch Operations:
- Plan and coordinate daily dispatch of finished goods
- Ensure proper loading procedures to minimize damage during transport
- Verify orders against dispatch documents
- Maintain dispatch schedule and coordinate with production
- Implement "zero-damage" loading protocols
- Track all outbound shipments and confirm deliveries
- Manage dispatch area organization and safety
Inbound Logistics:
- Coordinate raw material deliveries (cement, aggregates, steel)
- Schedule incoming shipments to align with production needs
- Verify quantities and quality of incoming materials
- Maintain raw material inventory records
- Coordinate with procurement on delivery schedules
- Manage unloading operations and material placement
Fleet Management:
- Coordinate company-owned vehicles and hired trucks
- Schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Track fuel consumption and vehicle performance
- Maintain vehicle documentation and insurance
- Monitor driver performance and compliance
- Ensure all vehicles have necessary permits and licenses
Project Site Logistics:
- Coordinate material deliveries to POC and road project sites
- Ensure timely delivery of materials for construction schedules
- Manage logistics for equipment mobilization to sites
- Coordinate with site supervisors on delivery timing
- Track project-specific logistics costs
- Ensure safe unloading at project sites
Inventory Coordination:
- Coordinate with stores on stock levels
- Provide input for inventory planning
- Monitor stock movement and reconciliation
- Assist with cycle counts and stock takes
- Report on inventory aging and slow-moving items
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain delivery records and proof of delivery
- Prepare logistics reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Track logistics costs against budget
- Document damage incidents and claims
- Maintain driver and vehicle logs.
Performance Metrics
- 100% on-time delivery performance to customers
- Zero damage incidents during transport (target)
- Logistics costs maintained within budget
- Accurate delivery documentation for all shipments
- Positive customer feedback on delivery experience
- Fleet uptime >95% (vehicles available when needed)
- Raw material stock-outs avoided through timely inbound logistics
- All project sites supplied on schedule for POC construction.
Professional Qualifications
Essential:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience: 3-5 years in logistics, transport, or supply chain management
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in construction materials, manufacturing, or heavy
- goods transport
- Fleet Management: Experience managing vehicles and drivers
- Nigerian Geography: Strong knowledge of routes within South-West and South-South
- of Nigeria
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license; experience driving trucks advantageous
- Language: Fluent English language advantageous
Desirable:
- Experience with precast concrete or heavy construction materials
- Knowledge of transportation regulations in Nigeria
- Experience with fleet tracking systems
- Background in project logistics
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management
- Experience managing third-party transport providers

Salary
N4,800,000 / annum (all inclusive).
