Job Title: Junior Lawyer

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose / Objectives

  • We are seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and results-driven professional to lead our Legal Team.
  • As a Junior Lawyer you will be responsible for providing legal support and advisory services to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, assist in managing legal risks, and support the effective handling of corporate and litigation matters.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions where required.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise management accordingly.
  • Assist in handling labour and employment-related legal matters.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, reports, and documentation.
  • Support company secretarial and corporate governance activities.
  • Liaise with external solicitors, regulatory agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation in court proceedings, mediations, and other dispute resolution matters.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of legal matters handled by the organization.
  • Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (B.L) qualification.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal assignments effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate, commercial, and labour laws.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-call experience in legal practice or corporate legal services.
  • Good drafting, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal research tools.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) with a valid practicing license.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Experience in litigation and dispute resolution is an added advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
