Lopterra Services Limited - Our client is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to advancing gender equity and eliminating sexual and gender-based violence in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. Through research, advocacy, policy reform, and survivor-centred interventions, they lead groundbreaking initiatives to drive action towards having a gender equitable society devoid of all forms of sexual and gender-based violence.

Job Title: Head of Programs

Location: Abuja (FCT)

About the Role

  • The Head of Programs will play a critical role in providing strategic oversight for the organization’s program portfolio, ensuring high-quality implementation, measurable impact, and alignment with our mission and strategic priorities.
  • This role is ideal for a strategic, experienced, and impact-driven professional with strong expertise in program leadership, design, implementation, and organizational strategy within the nonprofit or development sector.

Job Description

  • Identify funding opportunities, manage program risks, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and represent the organization in high-level engagements and strategic forums.
  • Lead the development and execution of program strategies, annual work plans, and operational priorities aligned with organizational goals.
  • Perform other related related duties that support the achievement of the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational programs and projects.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with donors, government agencies, development partners, and other key stakeholders to support organizational growth.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to program teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Ensure program quality, impact, compliance, and effective monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • 7–9 years of progressive experience in program leadership, management, and implementation within nonprofit, development, or social impact organizations.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, accountable, and mission-driven approach.
  • A PhD or Master’s Public Policy, Political Science, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.

  • Strong expertise in program strategy, project management, monitoring and evaluation, safeguarding, and results-based programming.
  • Proven experience leading multi-sectoral programs, managing cross-functional teams, and engaging donors through proposal development and reporting.
