Job Title: Compliance Officer & Fintech Lawyer

Job Description

• This role is critical to protecting the company from regulatory risks, legal exposure, financial penalties and reputational damage. The lawyer will oversee compliance frameworks, licensing requirements, partnerships, internal policies and regulatory communications especially in crypto, fiat transactions and cross-border operations.
• The Compliance Officer & Fintech Lawyer is responsible for ensuring that the company operates in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards across Nigeria and other operating jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on legal structure for crypto, fiat and Mobile Applications operations
• Act as the company's legal representative with regulators by handlinginquires, audits and compliance checks, and manage legal disputes
• Design and implement AML (Anti-Money Laundering) policies and KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures
• Collaborate with other teams and departments for operations delivery
• Draft privacy policies and terms of services for all our operations and ensure they are compliant with NDPR
• Draft and review all company agreements including partnerships, vendor agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Intellectual Property (IP) agreements, and Influencer agreements
• Develop and enforce company-wide compliance policies and educate staff on legal risks and compliance requirements
• Provide legal guidance on crypto trading, wallet systems and liquidity models
• Ensure regulatory compliance licensingwith Nigerian and internationalregulations (SEC, NDPC, EFCC guidelines where applicable)
• Identify compliance-sensitive areas on the admin dashboard and system
• Identify potential legal and regulatory risks early, and provide proactive solutions

Skills & Requirements

• Must have fintech experience
• Good analytical and risk-assessment abilities
• Must have Bachelor's degree in Law
• Must have 3 – 5 years’ proven experience in a Compliance Officer role
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Must possesshigh ethical standards
• Deep knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory compliance
