Job Title: Vendor Management Officer

Purpose of the Job
- The Vendor Management Officer in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry is responsible for overseeing and managing the relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- This role is crucial for ensuring that the procurement of goods and services is efficient, cost-effective, and aligns with the company’s standards and requirements.
Principal Accountabilities
- Develop and implement vendor management policies and procedures.
- Identify and assess potential vendors and suppliers, ensuring they meet the company’s standards for quality, cost, and reliability.
- Address and resolve any issues or disputes that arise with vendors.
- Maintain up-to-date records of contracts, agreements, and vendor performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular reviews of vendor contracts and performance, seeking opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies in all vendor interactions
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, aiming for favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage and monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and performance metrics.
- Coordinate with various departments to understand their vendor and procurement needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Must have 4-6 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry’s supply chain and procurement processes in Nigeria.
Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Analytical skills to assess vendor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple vendor relationships simultaneously.
- Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- Proficient in procurement and vendor management software systems.
