Job Position: SME Loan Officer

Job Location: Lagos

About the Role

• We are a reputable Microfinance Bank, seeking an experienced and result-driven SME Loan Officer to drive business growth through the acquisition and management of small and medium enterprise (SME) clients.
• The ideal candidate will have strong credit analysis skills, business development capability, and the ability to manage a healthy loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and onboard SME clients through strategic business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive retention and cross-selling opportunities.
• Assess client needs and structure appropriate loan solutions.
• Conduct financial analysis, site visits, and credit assessments of SME businesses.
• Prepare credit proposals and present for approval in line with internal policies.
• Monitor loan performance, ensure timely repayments, and manage delinquent accounts.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements.

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

• Loan disbursement volume
• Number of new SME clients acquired
• Portfolio quality (PAR)
• Loan repayment and collections performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in SME lending, credit analysis, or commercial banking.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and credit risk assessment.
• Proven track record in client acquisition and loan portfolio management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
