Job Summary
- The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, internal controls, and effective financial management.
- The role supports strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and maintaining the financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Monitor company cash flow, expenses, and financial performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Establish and maintain strong internal control systems.
- Provide financial advice to management on investments, cost reduction, and profitability.
- Support business growth strategies through financial analysis.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- 4–5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
- A Master’s Degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Professional certification such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position is an advantage.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
