Overview

  • The Federal Ministry of Works hereby issues this Final Extension of call for applications for the Engagement of Unemployed Skilled Artisans across all Local Government Areas in Nigeria under the Ministry's Capacity Building and On-Site Training Programme.
  • This is His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's initiative and a key intervention of the Federal Ministry of Works, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at strengthening national technical capacity, empowering young Nigerians, and supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the country.
  • Therefore, this final advertisement is strictly for artisanship category. Unemployed graduate employees should not apply as enough applications have been received under the category and are presently undergoing processing for shortlisting.
  • The first advertisement, which ended on 31st December, 2025 had inadequate applications for the Engineers and Skilled Artisans cat-egories. However, the second one yielded enough Engineers but still fell short of the required number of Artisans necessary to carry out selection screening.

Programme Objective

  • To equip young artisans with hands-on experience in modern construction methods.
  • To build a sustainable local talent pipeline for Nigeria's infrastructure development.
  • To reduce youth unemployment through structured, short-term engagement.
  • To strengthen project delivery by integrating trained local support personnel.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:

  • Possess recognized vocational training, trade test certificates, or verifiable practical experience.
  • Be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Be physically fit for construction-related field work.
  • Be willing to undergo additional training, safety certification, and supervised project attachment.
  • Be a Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 45 years

Programme Features

  • Provision of basic safety gear (PPE).
  • Field mentorship under registered engineers and certified supervisors. Hands-on training at Federal construction project sites.
  • Certification upon successful completion of the programme.
  • Priority consideration for future government or contractor engagements.
  • Temporary engagement with monthly stipends.
