Job Summary
- We are seeking to hire a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join its professional team.
- The ideal candidate must have practical experience in audit and taxation, with prior experience in an audit, tax, finance, or accounting consulting firm being highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, accounts and financial statements.
- Support audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork, documentation and reporting.
- Prepare and review tax computations, returns and related statutory documentation.
- Assist clients with accounting, financial reporting and tax advisory requirements.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support the preparation of management accounts, budgets and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with clients and relevant stakeholders to obtain financial information and resolve accounting or tax-related issues.
- Assist in identifying financial, accounting and tax risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain proper working papers and documentation for audit and consulting engagements.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other accounting, audit and consulting duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Proven audit and tax experience is mandatory.
- Previous experience working in an audit, tax, finance or accounting consulting firm is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and taxation.
- Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential financial information.
- Excellent communication and client-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a consulting environment.
Remuneration
N550,000 – N800,000 monthly, depending on experience, qualification and demonstrated competence.
