We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Production Officer / Blender

Job Purpose:


  • To execute and monitor blending, filling, and packaging operations in the lube plant in accordance with production plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
  • The role ensures accurate product formulation, proper documentation, and compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency requirements to support smooth plant operations.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Blending Operations:

  • Carry out blending of base oils and additives according to approved formulations and blending instructions.
  • Operate blending equipment (mixers, pumps, tanks, heaters, and measuring instruments) safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate measurement and transfer of raw materials to blending tanks following batch recipes.
  • Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, viscosity, and mixing time to achieve required product specifications.
  • Report any deviations or abnormalities in blending operations promptly to the Production Supervisor.

 Filling and Packaging:

  • Supervise and participate in filling operations for various lubricant grades in drums, gallons, and smaller packs.
  • Ensure filling machines are properly set up, calibrated, and maintained to minimize wastage and spillage.
  • Verify packaging materials (containers, caps, labels, and cartons) for conformity before use.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team for timely supply and evacuation of finished goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of filling lines and surrounding areas in compliance with HSE and GMP standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Complete all batch manufacturing records (BMRs), production logbooks, and blending reports accurately and on time.
  • Record quantities of materials used, quantities produced, and any variances observed.
  • Ensure traceability of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products through proper labeling and documentation.
  • Support internal and external quality audits by providing required production records.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure blended products meet required specifications before filling.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing production efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by management

Equipment and Process Maintenance

  • Assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of blending and filling equipment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly for corrective action.
  • Support the preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.

Requirements
Educational Requirement:

  •  HND / BSc in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  •  Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a lubricant blending or chemical manufacturing plant.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of lubricant formulations, blending, and filling operations
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting batch sheets and blending recipes
  • Familiarity with production documentation, QC collaboration
  • Understanding of machine operations and basic maintenance

Soft Skills:

  •  Attention to detail and process discipline
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and ensure operational safety
