Job Title: Irrigation Engineer – Agriculture & Water Management Projects

Locations: Abuja (FCT) and Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

• We are seeking a skilled and innovative Irrigation Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of irrigation and water infrastructure projects for agricultural development initiatives nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and management of irrigation and water infrastructure projects.
• Ensure efficient water management and sustainability practices
• Monitor irrigation performance and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with project teams on agricultural infrastructure development
• Lead in design conceptualisation, designing, hydraulic planning, and interpretation of irrigation engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Coordinate installation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure

Requirements

• Experience in hydraulic modelling, water resource planning, and irrigation network analysis
• Professional certification or COREN registration is an added advantage
• Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills
• Strong understanding of sprinkler, drip, center pivot, and surface irrigation systems
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in irrigation, hydraulic engineering, or agricultural water management projects
• Proficiency in irrigation and hydraulic engineering software such as EPANET, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D,IrriCADand GIS

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in:

• Agricultural Water Systems Design
• Agribusiness, Irrigation, or Agricultural Infrastructure Projects
• Irrigation Engineering & Water Management
• Pumping Systems and Hydraulic Design
• Climate-Smart Agriculture Solutions
• Irrigation Network Installation & Maintenance
• Water Resource Planning

Relevant software proficiency required:

• SWMM,·Microsoft Project or Primavera P6,·IrriCAD
• AutoCAD,·Civil 3D,·EPANET,·HEC-RAS,·HEC-HMS,·GIS,·WaterCAD
