Irrigation Engineer

Job Title: Irrigation Engineer – Agriculture & Water Management Projects

Location: Delta, but will be required to travel to different project sites
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and innovative Irrigation Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of irrigation and water infrastructure projects for agricultural development initiatives nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient water management and sustainability practices
• Coordinate installation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure
• Collaborate with project teams on agricultural infrastructure development.
• Lead the planning, execution, and management of irrigation and water infrastructure projects
• Lead in design conceptualization, designing, hydraulic planning, and interpretation of irrigation engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Monitor irrigation performance and recommend improvements

Requirements

• Proficiency in irrigation and hydraulic engineering software such as EPANET, WaterCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, IrriCAD, and GIS
• Professional certification or COREN registration is an added advantage.
• Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills
• Strong understanding of sprinkler, drip, center pivot, and surface irrigation systems
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in irrigation, hydraulic engineering, or agricultural water management projects
• Experience in hydraulic modelling, water resource planning, and irrigation network analysis
• Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
