  • The role combines strategic HR responsibilities—such as talent planning, policy development, and performance frameworks—with hands-on execution including site recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, compliance, and employee relations.
  • The HR Manager will partner closely with senior leadership to scale the workforce, embed performance-driven processes, and ensure full statutory and site-safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and workforce planning for corporate, sales, and site/project roles, including contractors and temporary staff.
  • Manage employee relations issues including grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, and exits, ensuring proper documentation and due process.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensure HRIS data integrity, and produce monthly HR reports and dashboards for management review.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications to strengthen culture and retention across office and project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE and site safety policies, working closely with site managers to promote safe work practices and incident reporting.
  • Manage onboarding and induction programs for both corporate and site staff, including safety briefings, PPE issuance, site rules, and contractor induction.
  • Design, implement, and manage performance management systems (KPIs/OKRs, appraisals, probation reviews, and PIPs), and support managers in cascading targets.
  • Oversee payroll coordination, allowances, statutory remittances (PAYE, Pension, NHF where applicable), and benefits administration in collaboration with Finance.
  • Drive learning and development initiatives by identifying training needs, coordinating mandatory safety and skills training, and implementing development plans for sales and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHRi/SPHRi, or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • 4–7 years progressive HR experience, preferably within real estate, construction, property development, or a fast-paced, project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS/HRMS tools, Microsoft Excel, and HR reporting/analytics.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Comfortable working across both office and construction/site environments.
  • Proven experience setting up or scaling HR systems including recruitment frameworks, performance management, and employee relations processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, statutory compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Hands-on experience managing performance frameworks (KPIs, OKRs, appraisals, confirmations, and PIPs).
  • Experience coordinating payroll, benefits administration, and statutory remittances in collaboration with Finance.
