Job Title: Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer
Location: Ota, Ogun

Job Summary
- To develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across all operations.
- The HSE Officer will support risk management, regulatory compliance, accident prevention, and continuous improvement of safety standards within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure adherence to relevant local regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
- Organise safety drills, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Monitor waste disposal, emissions, and environmental impact in line with company policies and regulations.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Support sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare periodic HSE performance reports for management review.
- Track HSE KPIs and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses across operational areas.
- Identify potential safety risks and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Prepare detailed incident reports with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct regular HSE training and safety induction programs for staff and contractors.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably in Engineering and Manufacturing company
- Investigative and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Good communication and training facilitation skills
- Ability to enforce compliance diplomatically but firmly
- Strong documentation and reporting ability.
- Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and risk management principles
